Abby Green is one of those authors that can captivate a reader from the very first sentence. She has a knack for transporting you to a world of glitz,glamour and passionate love affairs,taking you a reading ride one will never forget.

In One Night with the Enemy she as certainly done it once again. The story tells about Maddie and Nic,two souls bound by the world of wine making,family fueds and old love.

Maddie and Nic had one of those magical stolen affairs we often hear about but then she discovers a secret about Nic and takes off ! Then eight years later she returns and Nic decides to set his plan for "revenge" into motion.

Set in stunning Argentina the author takes these two characters and combines the world of wine making and their families legacies into one of the best books of the year!

I loved the fire and passion between Nic and Maddie to the point of distraction and for me I did not want the book to end. The gorgeous descriptive writing by the author has the unique effect of not only allowing one to picture every person and location perfectly in one's mind eye but to have you actually wishing you were there so that you could grab hold of the characters and give them a good slap for the mistakes they make,but also have you crying tears of joy when it works out.

Nic was a strong,powerful forceful character to recon with and Maddie was the stunning beauty from his past that had to be dealt with at all cost. I held fast to every single word and could not wait to see how the author would bring the "semi sweet" Maddie and "robust" Nic together in true Abby Green fashion.

Well done Abby !

When Maddie returns to Argentina to take over the vineyard that her estranged father had left to her in his will. It is to find the estate deeply in debt. Determined not to sell, she intends to find an investor.

Nic who owns his own vineyard, is determined to get rid of Maddie one way or another. Years ago they had become close but were torn apart by family rivalry and betrayal. Nic has not forgiven Maddie. When Maddie's attempts at finding someone to invest financially fail. She is forced to accept Nic's help. But there is a price he wants something from her. But will she be willing to give him what he wants.

Once again Abby Green gives us another highly emotional read. Full of passion and angst. With great characters and a fast moving plot, this is a great way to pass a few hours. Recommended.

The storyline really flowed. There was angst, but because they were both able to talk easily with each other, their secrets were laid bare without too much coaxing. Although he was the typical alpha male,I loved how his emotions confused him. She was also nice, but always too close to tears. Would definitely read again.

somewhat useful but not great

This book was intended to be used as a student book as part of a course. As the MTA is now available to self-learners (such as myself), this book has major flaws as a tool of self-instruction and could use a revision.

Each of the ten chapters concludes with a set of practice questions ranging from very obvious to obscure. The problem, however, is that as this was a book intended for the classroom there is no answer key provided, neither in the book nor (to my knowledge) on the web. Hence, while you can complete the questions, there is no way to check the accuracy of your work.

The book also contains a key code to take practice tests on the gmetrix.net website. You will need to run the program in Internet Explorer (boo). The questions differ somewhat from the content in the book.

Finally, when you take the MTA, expect the questions to be on fairly esoteric concepts either briefly mentioned or not covered at all in the book (better learn the meaning of the ins tag for instance).

I'm not entirely thrilled with either the content or the price of this book. It will give you a general idea of what to expect on the exam, just don't expect it to cover everything like it should. I did pass the exam, but this book could have been written much better. Also, if you want to gain actual skills in web design, there are numerous youtube tutorials (thenewboston) far more useful than this book. As of now (August 2013), this is the only detailed book on the market though, so you're pretty much stuck buying this if you want to take the 98-375.

Excellent!

This is the 4th Wiley Microsoft Official Academic Course book I have read.
I enjoy studying this book. Approximately 250 pages of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript material
related to the MTA Certification exam 98-375. I again think that this book is very useful for learning the material.
You may be able to pass to exam by studying this book. But I think that other resources will be helpful.
I was able to pass the exam May 2014 using this book for the majority of my study.

A poor indoctrination into Microsoft-centric mobile app development

Terrible. This is less an HTML5 app development book than an indoctrination into Microsoft-centric mobile app development. The content relies on obsolete links to Microsoft content. It is maddeningly frustrating to read. If you are a teacher or trainer, I cannot recommend you use this book. I will not use it in my classroom.

Thorough and accessible overview of polyurethanes

An excellent overview of polyurethane chemistry, useful both as an introduction to the field and as a reference. Includes fundamental discussions of polyurethane synthesis, characterization, and structure-property relationships, as well as manufacturing and marketing information for diverse classes of polyurethane products (flexible and rigid foams, elastomers, adhesives, coatings, and medical applications). As the author notes, polyurethane products surround us!

Great overview of PU, informative, well written
By doubleshark
Great overview of almost all aspects of PU. I have years of experience on PU materials and thought I knew about the whole picture of this field. But after reading half the book, I already found lots of helpful information. I would recommend this book to anyone who works with PU, from students who want to learn more besides from textbooks to experienced researchers who need to stay up-to-date.

A Classic

This book is constantly reprinted and it's no wonder. We first used it in an (authentic) high school CCD program in the mid- 1970's. Its simple, straightforward style, depth and clarity have me coming back to it every 4 years or so for a "refresher" on the basics of the Roman Catholic faith. This book is a must for anyone who wants to know why he exists, where he is going, who God is, etc., in addition to the nuts and bolts of Mother Church. I read a lot in this area--in addition to apologetics and all the usual suspects in that area and this book is a stand out and has stood the test of time. I'm ordering more because I'm always giving them away to all sorts of people and I never get "negative" feedback--it's always completely positive. A very readable book!

Very easy to understand and will answer numerous questions regarding Catholic faith. It should be required reading for all believers of the Bible, for it explains it in an easier way, leaving no room for speculations or assumptions. Highly recommended...

When I was given this book I thought there was no way an author could explain the Christian faith very well in a single book of this size. Then I read the first few pages, and the language was non-academic and easy to understand, so I thought there's REALLY no way the author could do a decent job expaining the faith.
But the Holy Spirit works in mysterious ways! This book works through biblical text and gives creative analogies, making the often hard-to-understand mysteries of the Catholic faith reachable for a layman like myself. If you want to understand the Catholic faith, READ THIS BOOK!

It is full of excitement

Hilda's parents were both loving and hardworking. They set a good example to Hilda. Papa encouraged children to make the best out of a bad situation. Mama worked hard all day long to take care of everyone. Hilda learned to be content and thankful of what she had.
After Hilda moved from Minnesota to Washington she became envious of her cousin Thora since she had so many pretty dresses and a big house with modern equipment. Hilda was angry and ashamed of her own house. Still she felt joyful when she found a brook where she could talk to God. Later on Hilda found out that Thora was actually envious about her because Hilda's family was always happy, unlike her own. Hilda and Thora made peace together at the end. They also became sisters.
Although Hilda had struggle over some problems throughout her life in Washington, she finally found the simple truth of joy. That was to have good relationship with God, family and friends. Hilda learned to forgive others and live a happy life with God.

Good book for building Christian character

A well-written book for the middle-elementary grades. It is a part of the 4th Grade A Beka Curriculum. The story development from the title to conclusion is good for those beginning to write book reports. Bonus: Christian character development through struggle and resolution of envy. A good family read, too.

A powerful, secretive multinational corporation offers geologist Alex McAuliff two million dollars to conduct a pre-development geological survey of a little-known area in Jamaica's interior, provided he keeps it absolutely secret. British Intelligence warns McAuliff that a previous survey team were murdered and the only clue left behind was the mysterious word "Halidon" carved by one of the bodies. Who, or what, is this "Halidon"?
Alex puts together his survey team of experts - but none of them are who they seem to be. One of them proves to be a very attractive woman, to whom he is immediately drawn - but he soon finds out that she has been an Interpol informant and is running from an ex-husband involved in drug smuggling. From the time McAuliff accepts the assignment, there are multiple attempts on his life and various mishaps befall members of his team.
As he attempts to trace the mysterious Halidon, he is drawn deeper into the history of Jamaica and turned inexorably against the predatory Dunstone Corporation that hired him. Alliances shift in surprising ways right up to the final shootout.
This book, one of Ludlum's earlier works, was originally published under the pseudonym Jonathan Ryder because the conventional wisdom of the time held that any author who wrote more than one book a year must be a hack! While it's not the absolute best of Ludlum's work, it's still a darn good read, and was meticulously researched on site in Jamaica.

A Far Cry from Ludlum's best

Taut with international intrigue and frenetic action, Robert Ludlum's novels are generally highly entertaining and rich with suspense. The standard of The Cry of the Halidon, however, is well below his usual.

Unlike most of his other books, The Cry of the Halidon is rarely suspenseful and does not build to a recognizable climax. The plot is typical Ludlum fare, with Alexander Tarquin Mcauliff selected by a company, -Dunstone Limited- to head a survey team deep into the Jamaican forests. Minutes after successfully attaining the survey assignment, he is approached by British Intelligence and informed that the motives of Dunstone are far from honest.

Naturally, he finds himself involved not only with British Intelligence, Dunstone and the rebel factions of Jamaica but also with a third faction, an organization known only as the "Halidon." While initially this may seem gripping and interesting, the text quickly becomes confused and rambling. With so many hostile organizations and no primary antagonist, it is frequently difficult to comprehend the plot, let alone the actions of the main character.

Although the novel does become more interesting at its conclusion, I found The Cry of the Halidon to be ultimately unsatisfying, with its more suspenseful elements overwhelmed by a confusing plot, a sprawling diction and a lackluster climax.
