Outstanding

I only heard her show once, and was not impressed at all. But this book is quite excellent if you are trying to sort out your life, or what you may be going through or did go through. While I didn't find all the chapters worth reading, the ones I did like were very insightful, essentially doing mini case studies on what has happened with her callers, by relating their stories.
The first chapter, Stupid Chivalry, explores how guys who are "too nice" to women may be denying their real needs and therefore not being real. This backfires for the "nice" guy, but results in a dupe being available to be used by a woman who wants things done for her. Women want men who are real as mates. The chapter also explores guyus being nice because they may feel that their hand is so weak, that they welcome someone who has a lot of troubles so that they won't have to worry about being abandoned. They will feel needed. But unlikely is the case that they will be wanted for more than solving problems of the troubled woman.
The 6th chapter, Stupid Matrimony, explores idiotic motivations for getting married. "She's cute!" is one of them. With so many marriages ending in divorce, it is obvious that people do not always have the resources to think through what is drawing them towards marriage in a practical way. This book is an excellent eye-opener. Just because someone is wonderful to have fun with does not mean that you can overlook their flaws and get away with it. The message of this book, through the histories of her listeners is you will not get away with it. Having someone you can rely on and work with is very important. And making excuses for a woman's current behavior, if it isn't good for a relationship, won't make that behavior go away in the future.
In short, those two chapters were so good in helping me analyze my life that I picked up a copy of the book for a friend who has done some of the stupid things. This book is about seeing stupid things we can do as stupid, rather than just feeling our way through and thinking things will magically work out, and that we will be appreciate, or that the woman will behave better.
If you are trying to sort things out in you life, relative to women, this book should help you see a lot more clearly. And I say that having read many books on related areas.

Many of the 10 things didn't apply to me personally, but that wasn't a surprise. However, one of the ten was right on the money & explained why I have made such bad choices in the past w/ choosing a woman. Now that I'm aware of my tendency, it helps me to be more selective & to not fall into the same trap.

About the Author
Although an Air Force veteran and a manager for most of his 35 year airline career, author Scott Mangold has always been more interested in trains than planes. Since moving to the Medford area, Scott has served on the Ashland Historic Railroad Museum Board and currently volunteers with the Southern Oregon Historical Society.

A Simply Wonderful Book

It is hard to believe, but the famous train robbery at Tunnel #13 on SP's Siskiyou Line by the DeAutremont brothers was 90 years ago this month! This horrible crime that cost the lives of 4 Southern Pacific crew members occurred on October 11, 1923.

Timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of this event there has just been published a book on this famous train robbery called, "Tragedy At Southern Oregon Tunnel 13 - DeAutremonts Hold Up The Southern Pacific. The author is Scott Mangold and it is published by History Press.

I bring this book to your attention because it is by far the most complete coverage ever on this famous event and it's after math. Sure, there have been at least 2 other books published over the years on the holdup, but this latest book leaves the others in the dust when it comes to the wealth of details, photos, documents and other information covered for the first time in this volume.

I found out about the book when the author contacted me an asked permission to use the attached photo on the books cover. This is an H.L. Arey photo of train #13 (the same train as involved in the robbery) leaving the Ashland, Oregon depot in 1924, the year after the robbery. (It looks like the publisher added some smoke to lead engine in the photo for the cover).

If you get this book you will learn a great deal more about this famous "Last Train Robbery" than you have seen before in print. I know I did.

Should be a movie!

This is a great book for people would like historical adventures, especially if you are interested in the history of southern Oregon and the railroad in the 1920s. Scott Mangold covers the personal background of the brothers DeAutremont as they plan to rob the Southern Pacific passenger train at Tunnel 13, killing four people in the process and sparking a four-year manhunt and subsequent trials and convictions. A great read!

A Guide that actually works.

I bought this book because I was looking to actually make some money online. All of these methods are current and can be applied by anyone who can follow directions. I was only making a couple of dollars a day, but when I used a few of the methods explained in this book I grew to $20 a day. I only have time to do internet marketing part-time. Thanks to Chad and Black Hat Dream I can make some extra money on the side. Great book at a cheap price. You can easily make up the price you pay for it in a day. Good Stuff! Great Buy!!

This is a great book. I bought this book, because I was looking for a way to make more money on the side. It definitely did the job. The information is very informative and easy to understand. There are many unique ways to make money that I had no idea even existed until buying this book. I am currently making anywhere between $15 and $20 a day. Thank you Chad!

I received this book in 2007 as a gift. It is, perhaps the best gift I have received in my life. How I wished I had this book in my 20s. My life, which has been good, would have been much better and more rewarding through this book. This isn't a book you read an hour at a time. You read one chapter a day, 2-3 pages. When you finish the book, you start over from the beginning. I am on my 5th trip through the book. The friend who gave me the book began reading it in the 50s, and never stopped until she passed two years ago at 86. She told me that each time that she read it, she found something new. We discussed that and decided that what was new was her view of life and of the world. In your first read there are some pages you may find a little off putting. I did. Even in the second reading. Could not stop reading!

I go to Adoration during the week, and usually I take something with me to read. One day, I decided to stop in after a particularly stressful day at work. I prayed for a bit, and then looked at a little bookshelf they have with random books. I picked this one because I had always been curious about what it held. I sat there for the remainder eating the pages up! I told myself, "I just have to get one!" The words on the pages felt like the author was just speaking to me while knowing me personally. Definitely a must read and a beautiful companion to deepening your Catholic faith!

Great little prayer book.

Great prayer book. Covers many topics and is arranged with a purpose - the prayer topics seem to flow from one to the next in a way i find helpful. Also well written, short and concise. In some ways reminds me of C.S. Lewis in that sense. It can cover a lot in a few words. I bought a first print and its pretty much identical to the ones being produced today.

Originally published in 1999, America's Space Sentinels won the American Astronautical Society's prestigious Eugene Emme Astronautical Literature Award and quickly established itself as the definitive book for understanding a crucial component of our national defense capabilities. It focused on the emergence and evolution of the Air Force's Defense Support Program (DSP) satellite system, which came on line in 1970 and continued to perform at a high level through the turn of this century and beyond.

For this new edition, Jeffrey Richelson covers significant developments during the last dozen years relating to the deployment of these satellites, especially the struggles to develop and launch the follow-on Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS), beginning in the late 1990s and continuing up to the present. The result is a book that remains the first and best source of information regarding these vital programs.

As Richelson notes, SBIRS, like its aging but still functioning predecessor, has been designed primarily to provide instant early warning of missile launches from around the globe-particularly China, Russia, North Korea, Pakistan, India, and Iran-through the infra-red sensors carried on each satellite. But the new system—beset by hardware, software, fiscal, and political problems—has only managed to move forward in fits and starts. While it has done so, the DSP system has continued to monitor the skies above the earth; two key ground stations in Australia and Germany have closed; nuclear powers Russia and the United States conferred extensively over the so-called Y2K problem (concerned that a computer malfunction might produce false alarms of a missile attack); and worries over potential launches from nations perceived as hostile to American interests have increased substantially.

The subject of infrared intelligence satellites is very important. This book gives the basics up to a certain point in time. If you are interested in satellites, it is a must read. Understandably the most recent capabilities are classified and not much is said about the capabilities of the low orbiters.
